After a series of POCs with enterprise partners there was no core product, but multiple fragmented identities for different parts of the tech stack.
I led an initial research phase, combining data analysis, team and customer interviews, internal workshops and an external survey. Insights were synthesised into clear design directions using the Elito method, target personas defined, and a detailed report of the findings shared within internally.

The research highlighted Stratumn's strength–tracking complex, regulated workflows.
After facilitating a series of internal workshops across product and engineering, we converged on the Kanban as the best UX for this product. Users would be also given a list view and the ability to click into any instance of the workflow and inspect each step. We named the product, Trace.

We developed our own design system, baking in accessibility fundamentals such as keyboard support, focus management, colour contrast, and readable typography.

Generic icon sets were inadequate, so a custom icon library was designed.
At the same time, I was working on a new identity for Stratumn.
Trace was designed to coordinate multiple enterprise partners, or multiple internal business divisions, across one complex, regulated process.
Clicking into a given Trace would enable a linear view of events with associated files and metadata for each step. Trace also provided for document creation and attestations if required.

We gave customers the ability customise the layout and display of the list view to help manage different workflows.

We enabled users to build detailed, custom forms and digitally sign attestations.

As the platform matured and usage increased, we responded to the need for detailed metrics.

I completed a full rebrand, delivering an identity that balanced innovation with B2B enterprise trust.
All sub-brands were consolidated under a single product identity, Trace. I produced brand guidelines, new website design, and templates to help others in the team take the brand forward.

Over two years at Stratumn, I grew the product team, helped sell Trace into major enterprise contracts, and in 2018 we won French Fintech of the Year.
We evolved from a scrappy blockchain startup into a company delivering complex enterprise solutions with an innovative product. Stratumn was later acquired by Sia Partners.
